Job summary

The Salvation Army Chico Corps is seeking a Part-Time Community Outreach Coordinator to develop and strengthen community engagement efforts. You will assist in recruiting and retaining volunteers, coordinating events, and building partnerships with donors and community partners.

Responsibilities include supporting staff, planning quarterly volunteer recognition, managing communications and donor newsletters, and promoting programs across social media.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or two years of related experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work with diverse communities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing events where volunteers are involved.
• Participate in committees and advisory board activities.
• Assist in compiling newsletters for donors.
• Support ongoing communication with volunteers and follow-ups.
• Coordinate birthday cards and thank-you letters for volunteers.
• Evaluate volunteer needs with staff and adjust allocations.
• Plan and run quarterly Volunteer Recognition events.
• Recruit and retain interns; identify internship opportunities.
• Identify and participate in community outreach opportunities.
• Represent The Salvation Army by sharing its mission and impact.
• Promote volunteer opportunities and increase community awareness.
• Provide social media support and recognition posts for volunteers.
• Promote volunteer appreciation through various channels.
• Maintain positive relationships with volunteers and partners.
