Job summary

Heart Response Ministry in Minnesota is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to build, develop, and sustain a thriving volunteer community. You will partner with ministry and department leaders to identify needs, recruit and onboard volunteers, coordinate orientation, and place volunteers in meaningful roles where they can serve with purpose and impact.

This part-time, non-exempt role requires designing a standardized onboarding program, managing scheduling and records in a volunteer management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in volunteer management or related fields such as recruiting or community engagement.
• Valid driver's license with ability to travel locally.
• Proficient with basic office tools; experience with volunteer management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, on-board, and place volunteers in meaningful roles aligned with needs.
• Design and implement standardized volunteer onboarding and orientation training.
• Coordinate scheduling, information management, and communications workflows.
• Maintain volunteer records and reporting for planning and compliance.
• Build partnerships with churches, schools, ministries, and community organizations.
• Foster a supportive volunteer culture and address concerns to improve experience.
