Job summary

CrossWalk Center in Houston seeks a Volunteer Program Coordinator to cultivate, equip, shepherd, deploy, and retain volunteers essential to our ministry. You will guide volunteers from initial interest to sustained engagement, ensuring onboarding, training, and alignment with CrossWalk's mission of seamless re-entry discipleship.

The role emphasizes relational leadership, volunteer pipeline development, and data-driven improvements in the volunteer experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain authentic relationships with diverse people.
• Emotional maturity to navigate difficult people, issues, and situations.
• Strong organizational, follow-through, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple people, processes, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with volunteers.
• Genuine desire to serve people affected by incarceration and re-entry.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, Train, Equip & Onboard volunteers and maintain onboarding records.
• Place & Deploy volunteers to appropriate service opportunities.
• Shepherd, Grow & Retain volunteers through regular check-ins and recognition.
• Communicate & Administrate with weekly records, KPIs, and updates.
• Coordinate Between Volunteers & Operations Staff to address concerns.
• Model CrossWalk culture and mission in all volunteer interactions.
