Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required to perform essential functions.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience required.
• Experience in volunteer recruitment, coordination, training, and supervision preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to perform essential functions.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to speak to groups and the Board.
• Ability to relate positively and effectively to a diverse community.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate a comprehensive volunteer program including recruitment, screening, training, supervision, and documentation.
• Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy for regional ministries and assist with materials.
• Serve as liaison between volunteers and staff to ensure volunteers meet program needs.
• Identify how volunteers can fulfill defined program needs and post through the volunteer management system.
• Maintain a master calendar of volunteer activities and detailed records of volunteer engagement.
• Design and implement a volunteer engagement retention plan and recognition events.
• Represent Buckner at community meetings and events; travel as needed.
