Job summary

Hope Church seeks a Volunteer Engagement Lead for Hope Thrift to cultivate a thriving volunteer experience where people are welcomed, equipped, and valued.

You will recruit, onboard, schedule, and develop volunteers, align roles with gifts, and build systems that sustain joyful service across donations, production, and the sales floor.

Working with the Store Manager and ministry teams, you will nurture relationships, model HOPE's mission, and grow volunteers into confident leaders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and supports HOPE Church's mission and beliefs.
• Strong relational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to recruit, encourage, and develop volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Volunteer Experience by recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and retaining volunteers across all store areas.
• Develop and care for volunteers through coaching, appreciation, and leadership development.
• Strengthen volunteer systems by maintaining records, communications, and schedules; monitor engagement.
• Contribute to ministry leadership by modeling HOPE's mission and collaborating with store leadership and staff.
• Cultivate a healthy volunteer culture that supports ministry and store operations.
