Job summary

Pathfinders in Milwaukee seeks a Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager to lead strategies for recruiting volunteers and interns, and to collaborate with programs to fill staffing needs. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Individual Giving and supports donor engagement across the organization.

This position also helps manage volunteer data, coordinates outreach events, and represents Pathfinders at public functions. Some evening or weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires education generally equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in communications, political science, human services or similar field.
• Experience with recruitment and management of paid or unpaid staff is helpful but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
• Must be able to work independently and with a team, and be flexible in a changing environment; occasional evenings and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train, retain, monitor and recognize volunteers and interns placed throughout Pathfinders' services.
• Lead community outreach to recruit a diverse pool of volunteers and interns.
• Respond to all volunteer inquiries.
• Screen, interview and select volunteer and intern candidates.
• Update curriculum and materials for volunteer trainings; assist with continuing education.
• Create, manage and organize volunteer appreciation activities.
• Maintain tracking of volunteers and opportunities in Donor Perfect; run agency reports.
• Represent Pathfinders at public events and speaking engagements.
• Serve as the organization’s contact with United Way for holiday giving and volunteer drives.
• Maintain volunteer records and complete necessary reports.
