Job summary

Nourishing Hope in Chicago is seeking a Manager of Volunteer Engagement to lead and grow our volunteer program, recruit volunteers, and coordinate training across sites.

You will supervise Volunteer Engagement Coordinators, manage program budgets, and partner with the Development team to engage community and corporate groups in Nourishing Hope’s mission.

Flexibility with schedule, occasional evenings, and a commitment to food security and compassionate service are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or related area.
• Two years or more overseeing volunteer programs with at least 100 volunteers annually.
• Experience managing staff and coaching, including scheduling and supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to expand and enhance the volunteer program.
• Supervise and support Volunteer Engagement Coordinators across locations.
• Manage volunteer issues and coach staff to maintain a positive environment.
• Oversee scheduling for programs and special events with staff collaboration.
• Maintain volunteer database and generate reports in Salesforce.
