Job summary

Weave is seeking an Engineering Manager (SIP Engineering) to lead the Voice Platform team, mentor engineers, and balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership. You will guide Go microservices, SIP/RTP infrastructure, and cloud-scale architectures while promoting growth and a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven people leadership in software/telecom teams.
• Staff-level expertise in VoIP/SIP with Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, RTPengine, Homer.
• Hands-on Go and scripting (Python, Bash, Lua).
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking and SIP/RTP/TLS.
• Experience operating production services in cloud environments (GCP) and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling like Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Provide people leadership, mentorship, and career growth for Voice Platform engineers.
• Contribute to hands-on coding for Go microservices and SIP/RTP infrastructure.
• Align engineering priorities with product roadmap and manage team backlog.
• Set performance expectations and conduct regular 1-on-1s and reviews.
• Own architectural vision for scaling the distributed VoIP platform.
• Collaborate with SRE, Product, and Support to ensure availability and call quality.
