Job summary

Weave looks for a VoIP Engineer to grow and sustain a distributed, cloud-based voice platform. You will optimize Kamailio/FreeSWITCH, build microservices in Golang, and deploy in Kubernetes, ensuring high call quality and scalable performance.

You will collaborate across engineering and SRE teams, improve observability with SIP/RTP telemetry, and participate in on-call incident response to maintain uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience designing and supporting large scale VoIP networks.
Hands-on experience with Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH and RTPengine.
Deep understanding of SIP/RTP/TLS/ICE-related protocols and networking.
Programming experience in Go, Java, or C; scripting in Python/Bash/LUA.
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud infrastructure.
Comfort with on-call rotations and incident remediation postmortems.

Responsibilities

Grow and manage a distributed, cloud-based VoIP platform.
Optimize FreeSWITCH and Kamailio configurations for performance and reliability.
Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain voice services and microservices.
Monitor VoIP network performance and improve call quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot VoIP issues including signaling, connectivity, and outages.
Operate services in Kubernetes environments and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
