Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an IT Network (VoIP) Engineer Lead to design, implement, and support enterprise voice infrastructure across campus and the Internet.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, supervise projects, and mentor junior staff to ensure reliable voice services including Call Center apps, SIP trunking, and related technologies. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Information Systems/CS, 5+ years in voice tech within complex networks,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Avaya or other voice technologies related to voice infrastructure.
• 5+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting voice technologies in a complex enterprise network.
• 5+ years operating telecom systems including PBX, VoIP, QoS, voicemail, call/cost accounting, and devices.
• 5+ years experience with Windows, UNIX/Linux server environments in a large network.
• 5+ years with healthcare IT environments is preferred.
• Avaya, Cisco, Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
• Master level skills in voice technologies; programming/scripting for server/client management.
• Strong project management and analytical/problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering a key voice technology service including Call Center apps.
• Develop and manage complex voice and application projects.
• Supervise tasks and provide performance feedback to management.
• Mentor junior staff and IM team members.
• Install and manage voice technologies and related software.
• Manage SIP trunking to adjunct systems and data center voice infrastructure.
• Produce and maintain procedures for enterprise voice infrastructure.
• Monitor performance of voice infrastructure and handle on-call for data center ops.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment and software maintenance.
