Job Description
*Hourly rate placement within the above range will be determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- Support daily instruction in vocational/technical program settings under the direction of the licensed vocational teacher.
- Assist in supervising and guiding students during hands-on/shop activities, ensuring industry-standard safety protocols are followed.
- Provide practical demonstrations and technical support, drawing on real-world experience in the trades or related fields.
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, and English Learner Education (ELE) accommodations in collaboration with special educators.
- Reinforce both vocational and academic skills through one-on-one or small group instruction.
- Monitor and manage student behavior using positive behavior support strategies.
- Assist in the maintenance, organization, and inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies within the vocational area.
- Accompany and supervise students on cooperative education (co‑op), job shadowing, or community-based learning experiences, when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA‑compliant working environment.
- Participate in relevant professional development and staff meetings.
- Perform clerical, documentation, and other support duties as assigned by the vocational instructor or administrator.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information and comply with FERPA regulations.
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $23 to $30 Per Hour

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree, technical certification, or trade license strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and diverse student populations.
- Willingness to learn new instructional techniques and adapt to educational settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands‑on experience in one or more building trades (e.g., carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, masonry, painting, construction management, etc.) or other relevant technical/vocational fields.
- Prior experience working with high school students or in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with industry tools, machinery, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to demonstrate and explain technical skills clearly and safely.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Working Conditions:
- Shop/lab environment with exposure to tools, machinery, dust, and other conditions typical of construction or industrial spaces.
- May involve standing, lifting, bending, or performing physical labor alongside students.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
