Job summary

Greater Lawrence Technical School (MA) seeks a Paraprofessional for Robotics and Automation to support teachers in delivering instruction and maintaining an effective classroom environment. You will coordinate with the lead teacher, prepare materials, and assist students with learning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom/shop teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Plans, prepares, and develops teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
• Presents subject matter to students using various methods including lectures, discussions, and supervised role-play.
• Assists students individually or in groups with lesson assignments.
• Assists in preparing the room for school and keeping the classroom/shop neat and orderly.
• Helps prepare and distribute lesson materials and arrange displays and learning centers.
• Assists in storing materials and closing procedures for the classroom/shop.
• Distributes correspondence when needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Classroom/Shop Teacher or Administrator.

Job Description

Reporting to the Classroom/Shop Teacher/Administrator to whom the Paraprofessional is assigned, performs any combination of instructional tasks in a classroom/shop to assist in making the school setting effective and efficient wherever and whenever possible.

This position is for Robotics and Automation.

Essential Functions: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. • Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom/shop teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
• Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role‑playing.
• Assists students as assigned, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist the teacher in preparing the room for school and in keeping the classroom/shop neat and orderly.
• Help prepare and distribute lesson materials; assist the teacher in arranging bulletin boards, class displays, learning center materials, parent notices, etc.
• Assist in storing materials and getting the classroom/shop ready for closing of school.
• Responsible for distribution of correspondence.
• Any other relative duties as required by the Classroom/Shop Teacher and/or Administrator.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s Degree or Passing Score on the ParaPro Test
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $33.88 to $45.68 Per Hour

Job Requirements
