Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree, technical certification, or trade license strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and diverse student populations.
• Willingness to learn new instructional techniques and adapt to educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Support daily instruction in vocational/technical program settings under the direction of the licensed vocational teacher.
• Assist in supervising and guiding students during hands-on/shop activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Provide demonstrations and technical support drawing on real-world trades experience.
• Support implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and ELE accommodations in collaboration with special educators.
• Reinforce vocational and academic skills through one-on-one or small group instruction.
• Monitor and manage student behavior using positive behavior strategies.
• Assist in maintenance, organization, and inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Supervise students on co-op, job shadowing, or community-based learning experiences when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized OSHA-compliant environment.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings.
