Job summary

Victoria College in Victoria, Texas seeks a full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor in the Allied Health Department to launch in Fall 2026. The twelve-month appointment includes classroom and clinical instruction, evaluation, and lab oversight, with a benefits-eligible package.

The successful candidate will guide students through integrated nursing curricula, supervise clinical practice, and participate in curriculum revision, FERPA-compliant record-keeping, and service activities across VC

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current unencumbered Texas RN license required.
  • Minimum of three years nursing clinical experience, with adult medical-surgical and pediatric/maternity emphasis preferred.
  • Online course development experience or willingness to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to interact with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and FERPA compliance.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Team classroom teaching, supervising students in clinical practice settings and instructional labs;
  • Assisting in curriculum evaluation and revision;
  • Committee work, advising and counseling students;
  • Sharing ongoing efforts to recruit and retain students;
  • Attend meetings at other VC campuses;
  • Other duties as necessary.
  • This position will access student records at times and will follow all FERPA guidelines.

  • Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; Bachelors' Degree preferred.
  • Current unencumbered Texas Registered Professional Nursing license required.
  • A minimum of three years of nursing clinical experience required, preferably in adult medical-surgical nursing and pediatric and/or maternity nursing.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn advanced computer skills.
  • On-line course development experience or willingness to learn.
  • Discretionary judgment regarding confidential information.
  • Ability to accomplish basic business tasks, meet deadlines, and ability to learn and interpretpolicies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interact with diverse groups.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc.
  • Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms
  • Will be required to stand and walk for a minimum of 6-8 hours during clinical or nursing lab (may include up to a consecutive 12 hour shift)
  • Requires some stooping, lifting and moving during patient clinical demonstrations
  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 15-20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen.
  • Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
