  • Maintain licensure, clinical competencies, and safety credentials.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Maintain accurate student records and required reports.
  • Support student recruitment and program retention.
  • Adhere to college policies and procedures.

Minimum Salary $62,173.25

Salary offer commensurate with education and related experience.

This is a Full-Time 12-month/tenure track faculty position, with a start date of January 2027.

Position Summary

Provides classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction for the Vocational Nursing Program. Supports student success through effective instruction, assessment, advising, and clinical education while maintaining program, institutional, and professional standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teach assigned Vocational Nursing courses in classroom, online, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback across instructional environments.
  • Coordinate clinical experiences and maintain effective relationships with clinical partners.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, assessments, and instructional resources aligned with program standards.
  • Advise students regarding academic progress, attendance, program requirements, and available resources.
  • Maintain required licensure, clinical competencies, and health and safety credentials.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, committee activities, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate student records and required reports.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and overall program success.
  • Adhere to College policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.Minimum 3 years of non-teaching clinical nursing experience.Current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider certification.Ability to meet required background check, drug screening, and immunization/TB screening for clinical settings.Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to assigned clinical sites.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior teaching experience in a vocational/practical nursing program.Bilingual – English/Spanish (Speak)

  • Knowledge of effective nursing education and interactive teaching practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, instructional technology, and online learning environments.
  • Strong communication, organization, and student engagement skills.
  • Ability to effectively support students in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical environments.
  • Commitment to professionalism, student success, continuous improvement, and the College’s core values.
  • Flexibility to work clinical schedules that may include evenings and weekends.
