Job summary

Victoria College invites applicants for a full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to begin in Fall 2026. This twelve-month role includes classroom and clinical teaching within an integrated nursing program and ongoing evaluation of student performance.

The instructor will contribute to curriculum development, participate in committee work, and advise students while upholding FERPA guidelines and professional standards. Benefits eligible position.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Texas RN license (unencumbered) required.
• Three years of nursing clinical experience preferred.
• Experience with online course development desirable.
• Knowledge of FERPA and student records confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Teach in classroom and clinical settings as part of an integrated nursing curriculum.
• Assist in curriculum evaluation and revision processes.
• Participate in committee work, advising and counseling of students.
• Engage in recruitment and retention activities for nursing students.
• Attend meetings at other VC campuses as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Allied Health Department is recruiting for one full time Vocational Nursing Instructor to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. This twelve-month position is responsible for classroom and clinical instruction and evaluation in an integrated curriculum.

7. This position will access student records at times and will follow all FERPA guidelines.

• Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; Bachelors' Degree preferred.
• Current unencumbered Texas Registered Professional Nursing license required.
• A minimum of three years of nursing clinical experience required, preferably in adult medical-surgical nursing and pediatric and/or maternity nursing.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn advanced computer skills.
• On-line course development experience or willingness to learn.
• Discretionary judgment regarding confidential information.
• Ability to accomplish basic business tasks, meet deadlines, and ability to learn and interpretpolicies and procedures.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with diverse groups.

• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc.
• Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms
• Will be required to stand and walk for a minimum of 6-8 hours during clinical or nursing lab (may include up to a consecutive 12 hour shift)
• Requires some stooping, lifting and moving during patient clinical demonstrations
• The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 15-20 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen.
• Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
