Job summary

Victoria College is seeking a Contract Training Coordinator in the Career & Technical Education Department to coordinate contract/customized training, assess needs, and help develop grants. This full-time role is benefits eligible.

The position requires building relationships with area business, coordinating trainings, drafting contracts, managing budgets, and supporting grant activities to advance workforce education.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in a business unit or higher education setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, implement, and promote customized/contract training opportunities to meet local and regional needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of area business resources to foster long-term positive relationships with the College.
  • Make public presentations to area organizations and businesses to promote department activities.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to publicize contract training and recruit students and partners.
  • Draft contracts with area businesses and Workforce Solutions for review by leadership.
  • Identify and pursue grant funding opportunities and coordinate proposal development.
  • Assist with contract training budgets and departmental unit plans.
  • Assist with departmental operations in Banner.
  • Establish performance measures to monitor course success and drive improvements.
  • Maintain the departmental Facebook page in collaboration with leadership.

Job description

The Career & Technical Education Department is recruiting for one full time Contract Training Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing relationships with area business and industry, assessing training needs, coordinating contract/customized training to address identified business/industry training needs, and assisting with the development of grants.

This position is benefits eligible.

  1. Identify, develop, implement, and promote customized/contract training opportunities to meet the needs of local and regional business and industry;
  2. Maintain knowledge of area community and business resources (costs, profits, markets, new business opportunities, trends and activities) that will bring long-term positive relationships to the College;
  3. Make public presentations to area community organizations and businesses to promote activities of the Department;
  4. Coordinate, in cooperation with the Marketing and Communication Department, strategies to publicize the contract training opportunities and its products to existing and new markets to recruit students and business partnerships;
  5. Draft contracts with area businesses and Workforce Solutions of the Golden Crescent for contract training services for review and approval by the dean and department chair;
  6. Identify and assess the appropriateness and potential of grant funding opportunities and work with appropriate internal and external officials to prepare funding proposals and grant applications;
  7. Assist with the development and oversight of contract training budgets and departmental unit plans;
  8. Assist with departmental operations in banner;
  9. Establish performance measurement factors to monitor course success and utilize results as a basis for recommended changes and new course development;
  10. Maintain the departmental Facebook page, in cooperation with Department Chair of CTE Continuing Education;
  11. Maintain inventory of equipment, material, textbooks and supplies to be used in contract training;
  12. Serve on area committees and boards as requested by College administration;
  13. Other duties as assigned.
Required
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience within a business unit or higher education setting.
  • Ability to adapt and to work cooperatively with the other divisions within the College.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational, budgeting, planning, and implementation skills, including ability to meet deadlines, attend to detail, and multi-task.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including all Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends) to accommodate client/training needs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel off-campus.
Preferred
  • Experience in continuing education programs, training, or related field.
  • Experience in program coordinator/manager/director in higher education setting.
  • Experience in human resources or corporate training, including organizational assessment.
  • Experience designing/developing/managing educational programs for adults, including needs assessment or market research.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial, customer-oriented approach.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
