Job summary

Makeshift Software Inc. is seeking a seasoned VO Director for the Hexborn project. You will lead voice direction, collaborate closely with actors to bring characters to life, and direct motion capture sessions as needed.

You will influence narrative decisions and contribute to storytelling strategy, with remote-first onboarding and transition to hybrid on-site work as the project scales.

About Hexborn

Hexborn is our upcoming dark fantasy action RPG — a brutal blend of hack-and-slash combat, deep dungeon crawling, guild progression, and player-driven rivalry set in a world consumed by an ever-expanding corruption known as the Graveglass Blight.
Players rise from an unknown mage into the leader of a legendary guild, mastering arcane combat, recruiting allies, forging relics, and descending into cursed ruins and large-scale raids to uncover the truth behind their rare ability to fly.

We need someone who can sit in the booth and on the mocap stage and pull performances that make the Graveglass Blight, our guild, and every character we cast feel real — not just voiced.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced VO Director to lead voice direction for Hexborn's cast, working directly with actors to draw out performances that serve both character and story.
You’ll direct — and where useful, perform in — motion capture sessions, and you'll have a real voice in narrative decisions, not just execution of a locked script.

This is a creative leadership role that requires both strong people-direction instincts and genuine storytelling judgment. You'll be trusted to push back on a line, a beat, or a performance choice when it serves the story better.

What You'll Need

• Deep experience with performance arts
• A proven ability to draw strong vocal performances from actors and actresses
• Strong familiarity with narrative storytelling devices
• A genuine willingness to influence narrative decisions, not just execute them
• Experience directing motion capture sessions, with the ability to perform in them as needed
