Job summary

SMX is seeking a VMware Systems Administrator to support on-site operations at Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland. This role requires US citizenship and a DoD Top Secret clearance.

You will join a team delivering program management, technical, and business analysis support across the NAVAIR community. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining VMs/hosts, scripting with PowerShell, Python, and Ansible, and ensuring robust backups and security practices, including STIGs and ACAS

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance required to work on DoD contracts.
• 3+ years of systems administration experience including VMware/vSphere Enterprise.
• Experience deploying/configuring and supporting virtual machines and hosts.
• Networking experience.
• Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and other technologies.
• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including VMs and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
• Maintain backups and disaster recovery plans.
