Job summary

Launch is seeking a skilled VMC setup specialist to join our precision shop floor in Addison, IL. You will configure and operate CNC vertical milling centers, translating blueprints into reliable setups and machining strategies to drive quality and throughput.

In this fast-moving environment you will own first-piece and in-process inspections, dial in offsets, and troubleshoot to stabilize processes across up to two machines. Collaboration and hands-on problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• CNC setup experience on vertical milling centers.
• Fluent blueprint interpretation.
• Hands-on quality inspection with micrometers, calipers, gauges.
• Experience running Fanuc-controlled equipment.
• Haas VMC setup/operation background.
• G-code and M-code proficiency.
• Experience with CNC machines up to 5-axis.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate CNC vertical milling centers to meet exacting requirements
• Select and install tooling and workholding; verify CNC programs
• Translate blueprints into actionable setups and machining strategies
• Own first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and related instruments
• Dial in offsets, perform minor troubleshooting, and stabilize processes
• Balance throughput across up to two machines and complete 1–5 setups per day based on the job mix
• Contribute within a fast-moving, collaborative culture
