Job summary

Ascendant Staffing Solutions is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for precision part production. You will read blueprints, select and adjust tools, establish offsets, and perform first-article inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy.

You will troubleshoot issues, edit programs, and maintain clean, safe work areas while meeting tight tolerances and throughput goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers for high-quality part production.
• Read and apply blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work instructions.
• Select, install, and change cutting tools to optimize performance.
• Establish work and tool offsets; execute robust, repeatable machine setups.
• Complete first-article inspections and ongoing in-process checks.
• Measure critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators.
• Perform program edits and tool wear adjustments to maintain dimensional control.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and propose improvements to methods and processes.
• Hold tight tolerances while achieving production throughput and quality objectives.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and sustain a tidy, organized work area.
• Work safely and follow all established quality requirements in a fast-paced environment.
