Job summary

GALLO is offering a Viticulture or Grape Breeding Research Intern position in California. This on-site internship supports precision growing practices to enhance yield, fruit composition, and wine quality.

You will collaborate with experts across Winegrowing Research disciplines and internal partners to gain hands-on experience in data analytics and field work. The program runs for six months (June—December 2027).

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's in Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, or Ag Business.
Available for the entire duration of the internship.
Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record; MVR check.
Must be able to drive to ranch locations up to 30% of the time.
Must lift/move up to 40 lbs.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Must be 21 years of age.
Strong applied technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support both Plant Breeding and Viticulture internship activities.
Characterize grapevine traits and collect tissues for genetic analysis.
Perform field data collection and sampling for maturity and compositional analyses.
Collaborate with internal teams and industry collaborators to advance precision growing practices.
