Job summary

The County of Yolo is recruiting for one regular, full-time Vital Statistics Technician in the Clerk-Recorder branch of the Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Elections Department. This role serves the public, funeral homes, and agencies, handling vital records, Official Records requests, and related clerical tasks.

The ideal candidate will deliver superior customer service, stay organized, multi-task, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of clerical experience that includes entering, retrieving, and compiling statistics from a MIS.
• Substitution: one year of business education beyond high school may substitute for one year of experience.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Bilingual in another language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing certified copies of vital records and Official Records requests.
• File Fictitious Business Name Statements (FBN) and mail Official Records.
• Perform various clerical functions in accordance with state and local rules.
• Provide excellent customer service to the public, funeral homes, and agencies.
