Maricopa County Department of Public Health is seeking a Vital Records Specialist to perform specialized administrative work involving registration, amendment, and issuance of vital records in accordance with Arizona law and county policies. You will review documents, protect confidential information, and provide customer service and technical assistance to partners.

Qualifications

• Two years of office, administrative, or clerical experience.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Responsibilities

• Register and process vital records accurately and in accordance with policy.
• Interpret and apply applicable laws and regulations to create, amend, or update vital records while maintaining confidentiality.
• Verify identity and safeguard confidential information by authenticating documents and ensuring data security.
• Provide customer service and technical assistance to hospitals, funeral homes, and partners with the vital registration process.
• Process payments, balance daily cash receipts, and prepare financial documentation.
• Collaborate with hospitals, birthing facilities, and public partners to improve service delivery and regulatory compliance.
