Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Broward County seeks an OPS Records Technician to process vital records requests, issue certificates, and manage payments in a busy, on-site setting. The role requires strong customer service, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years customer service over the phone or in person.
• 2+ years handling cash, credit cards and checks.
• 2+ years performing administrative and office support duties.
• Bilingual: English/Creole or English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Process Applications for Service from the public via fax, mail, and Vitalchek orders.
• Review and establish eligibility for birth/death certificates; issue certificates as appropriate.
• Handle daily accounting and tracking of safety paper and document voids.
• Greet customers and funeral directors at the Information window; provide general information.
• Cover satellite locations as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidential information in accordance with health policies.
