Job summary

South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking an On-Site Customer Service Supervisor to oversee vital records services. You will supervise regional staff, handle customer requests, and ensure accuracy of documents and amendments.

The role requires several years of clerical and supervisory experience, proficiency with confidential records, and the ability to train staff on procedures. A hybrid work option may be available after 12 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Six years of responsible clerical experience including two years of cashiering, banking or accounting experience.
• Three years’ experience with confidential records and two previous supervisory experience in vital records.
• Ability to type at a corrected rate of 45 wpm; on-site test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance and supervise a regional office of Vital Records staff including time, leave, cash drawers, trainings, and supplies.
• Assist staff in processing requests and amendments for vital records and ensure accuracy before submission.
• Gather data for performance metrics and attend monthly coordination meetings; assist customers with applications for certified copies.
