Job summary

Veridiam is seeking a temporary Visual Work Instructions (VWI) Writer to translate existing Manufacturing Instructions into clear, visual, step-by-step job aids for shop floor operators. You will observe operators and engineers to capture sequences and create easy-to-follow VWIs posted at each workstation.

Ideal candidates have experience in technical documentation, an eye for detail, and the ability to work in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; two or more years creating technical documentation preferred.
  • Proficiency in translating technical requirements into clear visual instructions.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and shop-floor documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review existing manufacturing instructions to understand scope.
  • Observe operators on the shop floor and capture accurate workflow details.
  • Create visual, step-by-step VWIs using photos, drawings, and callouts.
  • Take photos and short videos of each process step.
  • Identify tools, equipment, materials, PPE, settings, tolerances, safety measures, and inspection points.
  • Draft VWIs using a standard template with concise language.
  • Route drafts for technical accuracy reviews and sign-off.
  • Revise VWIs based on feedback and post at workstations.
