The Black Information Network is the first and only 24/7 comprehensive national audio Black News service dedicated to providing an objective, accurate, and trusted source of continual news coverage with a Black voice and perspective.
Because news is always on, flexibility is a core requirement of this role. We’re looking for an Associate Editor who understands the realities of a 24/7 news cycle, including regular weekend shifts and occasional off‑hours work tied to breaking news, developing stories, and major cultural moments.
This role sits at the intersection of real‑time reporting, digital storytelling, and social‑first thinking. It is highly collaborative by design, requiring close partnership with reporters, editors, audio teams, and social. At the same time, the Associate Editor is trusted to work independently, manage assignments, and make sound editorial decisions with a high level of autonomy.
We’re seeking a multimedia‑minded journalist who knows that creating the story is only part of the job; sharing it responsibly and effectively across platforms is just as important.
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
