Job summary

GNB Global Inc. is seeking a Visual Testing (VT) Quality Inspector II in Rhome, TX. The role supports the QA team with Level II VT inspections on steel fabrications and welded assemblies, ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1 and project specs.

You will review drawings, WPSs, PQRs, and report findings, NCRs, and corrective actions. Qualified candidates have a VT Level II certification, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and strong measurement tool skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• VT Level II Certification per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.
• 3–5 years visual inspection in steel fabrication/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, weld symbols, specs, WPSs, and quality docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform Level II Visual Testing (VT) inspections of materials, welds, and assemblies per codes, drawings, and customer specs.
• Inspect welds before, during, and after welding for defects (cracks, undercut, porosity, overlaps, etc.).
• Verify weld profile, size, fit-up, and workmanship using gauges and inspection tools.
• Ensure inspections comply with AWS 01.1, project specs, procedures, and quality standards.
• Review fabrication drawings, weld symbols, WPSs, and PQRs for compliance.
• Document and report inspection results accurately and timely.
• Issue inspection reports, NCRs, and support corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and improving inspection procedures.
• Mentor Level I inspectors as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
