Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. in York, PA is seeking an experienced VT Level II Quality Inspector: Visual Weld Inspection for the 3rd Shift. You will perform quality audits on large structures, weldments, and assemblies to verify conformance to drawings and specifications and document results.

Requires VT Level II per SNT-TC-1A, ability to read drawings, and passing the VT Level II exam. The role is on the 3rd shift, 10:00 pm–6:00 am, with a 8-hour shift and two breaks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• VT Level II certification per SNT-TC-1A.
• Documented visual inspection experience in welding/fabrication.
• Documented Level II VT training per SNT-TC-1A.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to interpret dimensional drawings, weld symbols, and PWI requirements.
• Capable of performing dimensional and Visual Weld inspections.
• Familiar with imperial and metric measurements.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Physically able to access vehicles to obtain inspection data; lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must pass BAE VT Level II examination.
• Able to work on 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality audits for conformance to drawings/specifications on large structures, weldments, assemblies and components.
• Determine accept/reject dispositions and document results.
• Use standard precision measuring equipment for visual or tactile inspections.
• Verify color, plating, paint quality, damage, and completeness of assemblies and kits.
