Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, LLC in Oregon City, OR, seeks an Operations Technician II, Manual Production to perform straightening, buffing, and grinding to meet dimensional specs. This role is cross-trained to handle multiple manual production tasks without supervision.

You will inspect castings visually and dimensionally, document results, and assist in training personnel while supporting Lean and safety initiatives in a 175-person team at a 80,000 sq ft facility that makes hip and knee

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year manufacturing experience required.
• Operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using appropriate tools.
• Confirm discrepancies using calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface profilometers.
• Rework discrepancies and route to salvage with required documentation.
• Review rework and scrap castings with department lead.
• Identify and record as Scrap all castings that do not meet customer specifications after rework.
• Route Scrap castings to designated area.
• Complete proper documentation as required including process routing card, salvage router, scrap tags, dimensional reports, etc.
• Perform or assist in performing training of personnel as directed by the department supervisor or lead.
• Maintain area and equipment in clean, organized condition.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
• Dimensionally inspect work using calipers, pin gauges, surface plates, etc.
• Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
• Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products.
• Assist in training of personnel as directed by Supervisor or Lead.
• Reinforces safety expectations and reports issues to Supervisor.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to QMS procedures and training.
• Complete all required training.
