Orchid Orthopedic Solutions in Oregon City, OR is seeking an Operations Technician II, Manual Production to perform Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings and assist in various manual production operations. You'll use calipers, pin gauges, and surface profilometers to verify specifications and support scrap routing and rework as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using measuring tools.
• Confirm discrepancies with calipers, gauges, and surface profilometers.
• Rework discrepancies and route to salvage with proper documentation.
• Review rework and scrap castings with department lead.
• Record scrap classifications and route castings accordingly.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow safety rules.

For more information, please visit www.orchid-ortho.com.SHIFTORE - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Oregon)A BRIEF OVERVIEWThe Operations Technician II, Manual Production performs various operations including but not limited to straightening, buffing, and grinding on parts to achieve the required dimensional specifications. They are also cross-trained on and can perform numerous operations within manual production without supervision.WHAT YOU WILL DOPerform Visual & Dimensional Inspection of castings per tech card using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; hand grinding equipment, measuring tools.Confirm discrepancies using appropriate tools including, but not limited to calipers, pin gages, measuring instruments and surface profilometers as required.Rework discrepancies as allowed by tech card using appropriate tools, route to salvage operations as necessary with required documentation.Review rework and scrap castings with department lead as necessary.Identify and record as “Scrap” all castings that do not meet customer specifications after rework.Route “Scrap” castings to designated area.Complete proper documentation as required including, but not limited to, process routing card, salvage router, scrap tags, dimensional reports, etc.Perform or assist in performing training of personnel as directed by the department supervisor or lead.Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.Follow designated safety rules and regulations.Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and productsPerform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs.Assist in training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated.
