Our Gaming Client is seeking a VFX Artist to join their growing team!

Job Title: VFX Artist

Job Type: W2 Contract (through 03/31/2026)

Location: Remote USA

Compensation: $69 – $85 per hour

About the Role

The VFX Artist will be contributing to a variety of R&D projects that push the boundaries of gameplay and visual storytelling. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop visually compelling effects that enhance gameplay clarity and player immersion.

You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, artists, and the Art Lead to bring new features to life, adapt existing assets, and create innovative visual effects that align with the game’s evolving vision.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time stylized VFX for gameplay, environments, and features.
• Adapt and update existing visual effects to support new gameplay mechanics.
• Lead the visual development of VFX from concept through in-engine implementation.
• Ensure visual clarity and gameplay readability in all effects.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align on creative and technical goals.
• Solve complex production challenges and contribute to decision-making around VFX clarity and performance.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience creating real-time stylized VFX for games.
• Proficiency with tools such as Unreal Engine, Maya, 3DS Max, and Photoshop.
• Deep understanding of the game development pipeline, including optimization and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Unreal Engine’s Niagara or Cascade systems.
• Experience directing or providing feedback to external vendors.
• Ability to create VFX, materials, and PBR assets in modern game engines.

Application Requirements

• Portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant VFX work.
• Completion of an art test may be required as part of the interview process.
