Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a VistA Transition Subject Matter Expert to support VA Health IT modernization efforts. The role analyzes, plans, coordinates, and executes legacy VistA transitions across multiple sites, with a focus on readiness, cutover, validation, and ongoing monitoring.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of related experience, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, working in a remote Agile environment across dispersed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related field.
• 15+ years of work experience.
• 10 additional years may substitute for the degree.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with remote Agile environments.
• VistA knowledge: menus, security keys, access management, provisioning.
• Experience with VistA patch analysis & usage data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze VistA applications, menus, interfaces, and access to assess transition impacts.
• Present technical findings to leadership and stakeholders.
• Conduct VistA usage analysis using enterprise reports and Grafana dashboards.
• Develop implementation playbooks, VUE reports, and transition recommendations.
• Support site readiness, cutover, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
• Present findings and recommendations to project teams.
• Ensure quality and completeness of implementation deliverables.
• Recommend transition improvements based on usage and feedback.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of transition processes.
