Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a VistA Transition Subject Matter Expert to analyze, plan, coordinate, and execute legacy VistA transitions during VA EHRM deployments. The SME will serve as the primary technical liaison for implementation sites, providing guidance on VistA applications, workflows, user access, and transition impacts.

This is fully remote within the United States. Core hours are EST 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with periodic weekend support during deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field or related discipline.
• 15+ years of work experience in technical roles.
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with VistA applications, security keys, and user access management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze VistA applications, menus, interfaces, and security to assess transition impacts.
• Deliver educational content and technical findings to leadership.
• Use enterprise reports and Grafana dashboards to identify trends and support transition decisions.
• Develop implementation playbooks and transition recommendations.
• Support site readiness, cutover, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
