Coordinadora Moriviví, Inc., a nonprofit serving homeless individuals in Puerto Rico, seeks a proactive AmeriCorps VISTA member to strengthen the capacity of the CoC PR-503 network. You will conduct needs assessments, research federal funds, and build training resources to support homeless services.
This full-time year-long placement offers growth opportunities, a living allowance, and an education award path. Start date 11/14/2026; location PUERTO RICO; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Coordinadora Moriviví, Inc. is a non‑profit organization functioning as the Collaborative Agency for the Continuum of Care 503 (CoC PR-503) under a Federal HUD grant. This CoC covers 54 municipalities of Puerto Rico and serves 36 community- and faith-based organizations and municipal governments that have 96 HUD-financed projects for housing and supportive services to homeless individuals and families. In Coordinadora Moriviví we are looking for a proactive, empathetic, and committed person to serve the homeless population. If you have these qualities, we need you to help us evaluate services for this vulnerable population. Through this service opportunity, you will be able to develop yourself, gain professional experience, expand your knowledge of the homeless population, evaluate proposals, and create alliances with various sectors.
The AmeriCorps VISTA member will support efforts to strengthen the capacity of organizations serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness within the CoC PR-503 network. During the service year, the member will conduct a needs assessment to identify training and funding knowledge gaps among member organizations. Based on these findings, the member will research federal funding resources and national best practices, develop a directory of professional trainers and training resources, and create a structured training framework aligned with federal funding and compliance requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The member will evaluate training effectiveness and produce tools, templates, and a training guide that will allow the Continuum of Care Program network to sustain these capacity-building efforts beyond the VISTA service term.
