UMES is seeking applicants for a temporary, Visiting Lecturer and Culinary Coordinator position in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management from August 2026 through May 2027. The position will report to the Department Chair. The ideal candidate is committed to developing student-centered, forward-thinking, high-quality culinary pedagogy and contributing to an ambitious undergraduate Hospitality and Tourism Management program focusing on our culinary program. The Department The Department is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACHPA) and offers a bachelor's degree in hospitality and Tourism Management. The program is offered also at The Universities at Shady Grove. The Department also fosters research and service of direct application and benefit to the State of Maryland and the global hospitality industry. In addition, the Department houses one of only 14 accredited PGA Golf Management University Programs in the United States which prepares students for a career in the golf industry. In fall 2024, the program began offering a degree in an asynchronous modality. Location The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is an 1890 Land-Grant Institution in the University System of Maryland. The campus is in the town of Princess Anne, 13 miles south of Salisbury. The University is accessible to major metropolitan areas of Baltimore City and Washington, D.C to the Northwest and Philadelphia to the North. All are approximately 2-½ hour's drive. Ocean City and other resort areas on the Atlantic Ocean are within 30 minutes. The School School of Business, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Technology, and Tourism Management (S-BEAST-TM) is AACSB accredited and includes five academic departments: Business Management and Accounting, Engineering and Aviation Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Computer Science and Engineering Technology, the Built Environment; as well as one program, PGA Golf Management. S-BEAST-TM responds to the educational demands of our global community of students by developing and delivering high-quality programs in business, hospitality, technology, and the sciences.
