VEG is seeking Medical Directors who are exceptional emergency veterinarians and criticalists, and also true leaders. They guide each hospital to medical excellence, own their careers, and influence care from triage through discharge.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
• 5+ years of traditional 24/7 ER experience and critical case management.
• Passion for customer satisfaction through providing the highest medical care.
• Training in emergency surgery/endoscopy preferred.
• Leadership skills training and mentorship experience preferred.
• Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong odors.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a positive culture through team huddles and recognition.
• Foster collaboration between doctors and technicians to deliver high-quality care.
• Lead team meetings focused on relationship building, medical quality, and well-being.
• Support growth and development of the doctor team via 1:1 meetings and development plans.
• Lead patient safety initiatives to ensure safe, excellent care.
• Recruitment strategy and candidate experience in collaboration with talent partner.
• Partner with market owner to implement a marketing strategy.
• Create and maintain doctor schedules.
• Ensure VEG hospitals comply with regulations.
