Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a Medical Director to lead emergency veterinary teams across VEG hospitals. You will guide clinical care, mentor doctors and technicians, and drive patient-centered outcomes in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

You will build a culture of excellence, optimize staffing and development plans, and collaborate with market leadership on growth and safety initiatives. A DVM/VMD degree and 5+ years of ER leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a veterinary degree (DVM/VMD) or equivalent.
• 5+ years of traditional 24/7 ER experience and critical case management.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a positive culture through team huddles and recognition.
• Lead doctor teams to deliver clinically excellent emergency care.
• Oversee doctor recruitment and development plans.
• Partner with market leadership to implement marketing strategies.
• Create and manage the doctor schedule and hospital performance.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
