Job summary

Native American Bank, N.A. is seeking the Executive Director of the National Native Community Fund (NNCF), an affiliate nonprofit. The role combines long-range strategy with day-to-day operations to grow a mission-driven loan fund serving Native communities.

You will work with NAB, tribal partners, funders, and community organizations to advance capital access and sustainable impact. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of nonprofit leadership, fundraising and grant experience, and a proven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, community development, financial services, or a related field.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and nonprofit financial operations.
• Experience working with a Board of Directors, community organizations, funders, and other community partners.
• Experience in lending, loan portfolio management, small business finance, community development finance, or CDFIs is required. Experience working within nonprofit organizations and/or Indian Country is highly preferred.
• Experience working with Native American, Tribal, or Indigenous communities is highly desirable.
• Commitment to NNCF’s mission, values, and the communities we serve.
• Ability to work independently while also working well with others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems.
• Ability to think strategically and follow through on organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for NNCF to achieve mission and goals.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and align with organizational goals.
• Lead strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Oversee programs, processes, technology, and reporting for operations.
• Develop and manage annual operating budget and monitor financial performance.
• Collaborate with the Board on performance, finances, and priorities.
• Lead fundraising, including donor relations and grant reporting.
• Administer lending programs to support community development.
• Build relationships with Tribal communities, funders, and stakeholders.
• Serve as primary spokesperson for NNCF with partners and the public.
• Provide staff leadership and promote collaboration and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with laws, grant requirements and policies.
