Job summary

JEWISHcolorado seeks an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to lead its mission, expand fundraising, and strengthen partnerships within Colorado’s Jewish community and beyond. The CEO will supervise senior staff, guide program strategy, and ensure financial stability while engaging donors, partners, and stakeholders at local, national, and international levels.

The role requires a seasoned nonprofit leader with a proven track record in major donor stewardship, strategic vision, and crisis

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience and ability to set a clear vision for a nonprofit organization.
• Experience leading a nonprofit of comparable size and complexity to JCO.
• Proven track record building and directing high-performing teams across staff and volunteers.
• Extensive experience in total financial resource development, fundraising strategy, and donor relations.
• Ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and build long-term relationships.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to align diverse stakeholders and navigate complex environments.
• Crisis management experience with decisive leadership and transparent communication.
• Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, and organizational skills with integrity.
• Strong written and verbal communications, capable of engaging varied audiences.
• Experience engaging with Israel and global Jewish partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the Board, staff, and community by advancing a clear, forward-looking vision for JCO.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the professional team, fostering a collaborative, accountable, high-performing culture.
• Recruit and evaluate top staff and lay leaders to advance JCO’s mission and core programs.
• Oversee human resources, data platforms, and technology to support goals.
• Develop and execute fundraising strategy; expand annual campaigns and donor base.
• Cultivate relationships with major donors and solicit leadership gifts for campaigns and endowments.
• Use data and research to strengthen fundraising systems and inform decisions.
• Diversify donor pipelines and build long-term partnerships across the community.
• Advance partnerships with organizations, schools, synagogues, and volunteers.
• Represent JCO publicly as chief ambassador and communicator.
• Ensure messaging is clear and consistent with organizational positions.
• Maintain visibility across Colorado’s Jewish life and respond effectively in crises.
• Engage with external partners and stakeholders to deepen impact.
• Guide board and lay leadership in governance and strategy.
• Oversee financial health, budget development, and operational efficiency.
