Job summary

The Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child Development Center (CDC) Director to administer a developmentally appropriate program for up to 100 children aged six weeks to five years. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and strong staff leadership.

You will oversee program management, budgeting, facilities, and compliance with DoW/DoN policies, while coordinating with installation leadership to support military families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field with three years of full-time experience with children/youth.
• Mastery knowledge of child development theory, methodology, and center management.
• Knowledge of DoW/DoN regulations and budget/resource management.

Responsibilities

• Provide program oversight and accountability for staff performance and child safety.
• Develop policies and procedures for age-appropriate programs and curricula.
• Manage budgets, funding requests, and financial reporting; ensure compliance with DoW/DoN policies.
• Develop, administer and evaluate developmental activities and SOPs; supervise facility operations.
• Engage with parents, volunteers, and installation personnel to sustain positive relationships.
