Job summary

The Commander, Navy Installations Command seeks a Child Development Center Director to oversee a small (up to 99 children) or a medium (100–199) CDC, ensuring high‑quality developmentally appropriate programming. You will manage budgeting, staffing, compliance, and interagency coordination with DoN policies.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree in a related field with 3 years of experience, or a Master’s with 1 year experience; strong leadership and regulatory knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Program Management: supervise developmentally appropriate CDC programming.
• Budgeting and Financial Management: develop budgets and ensure funds are used properly.
• Personnel Management: supervise staff and volunteers, ensure training and evaluations.
• Compliance: adhere to DoN/DoD/NAEYC standards and maintain certifications.
• Community liaison: coordinate with local organizations and CYP Directors.
• Operations: manage staffing, hours, SOPs, and Parent Involvement initiatives.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Home Economics (early childhood emphasis) or related field

Master's degree in the related field with minimum 1 year professional experience
