Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation's Design & Construction unit seeks an experienced Bus Action Plan manager to implement citywide bus priority initiatives under Vision Zero. The role focuses on protected bus lanes, bus loading areas, bus islands, and coordinating across Street Improvement Projects and resurfacing programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications include a master's degree in transportation engineering, urban planning, or related fields; or a bachelor's with related experience; or equivalent combinations.
  • Experience performing technical work on roadway transportation and traffic studies or area-wide traffic programs.
  • Additional years of experience elevate assignment level per listed requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Bus Action Plan and related bus priority projects.
  • Coordinate bus priority projects with resurfacing programs and Street Improvement Projects.
  • Participate in interagency and internal meetings with Borough Commissioners' offices and agency leadership.
  • Work with planning units, contractors, and in-house staff to ensure project delivery.
  • Establish standards and workflows, balance workloads, monitor performance, and support training.
