Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Transit Development (TD) SME to focus on bus priority treatments and street design across New York City. The role reports to the Director of Design for Policy and Guidance and serves as both technical resource and designer for TPM, D&C, and Design Unit.

The role includes coordinating with TD unit, researching best practices with organizations such as NACTO, and developing bus-priority street designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license; active throughout employment.
• Master's degree in civil engineering may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply bus priority treatments for NYC street design projects.
• Develop NYC-specific design details and coordinate with borough staff.
• Prepare concrete construction plans and review engineering plans.
• Collaborate with TD unit, MTA, and external partners on design review.
