Job summary

SFUSD in San Francisco is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator (S20V) to support visually-impaired students under an IEP/IFSP. You will assist in lesson planning, adapt materials, and help students access curriculum in a collaborative classroom setting.

The role is part-time during the school term, 5.5 hours per day (27.5 hours per week), with duties including record-keeping, tests, and equipment operation in accordance with program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher or 48 college units with a high school diploma.
• CBEST and a high school diploma may be required.
• Keyboarding ability.
• Ability to learn new technology as needs and equipment change.
• Braille knowledge or related vision-impaired background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials for visually-impaired students.
• Work with IEP/IFSP goals, supervise and tutor individuals or small groups.
• Conduct planned lessons with assigned groups in classroom or other locations.
• Explain subject matter, administer tests, review and correct assignments, and maintain pupil profiles.
• Prepare and maintain records and lists; operate instructional equipment and supplies.
