Job summary

Soliant seeks a full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support students near Glendale, AZ. You will adapt core curriculum to meet visual needs and ensure accessible instruction for diverse learners across the school community.

You will design and monitor IEPs, assess student progress, and collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to foster inclusive learning and student success throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligible for certification.
• Experience designing and modifying curriculum for visually impaired students.
• Experience assessing students and developing IEPs.
• Proficiency with assistive technology and Braille instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with students, staff and families.
• Commitment to inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and deliver core curriculum for students with vision impairments.
• Conduct ongoing evaluations to determine academic and adaptive needs.
• Develop, implement and monitor IEPs tailored to goals.
• Consult with teachers and staff on modifications.
• Provide training and resources on assistive tools to students, families, and colleagues.
• Advocate for equitable access and needs of students across the school community.
