Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Typing and keyboarding skills.
• Experience with technology; effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.
• Willingness to learn and transcribe Braille.
• Willingness to learn and use Braille-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist VI professionals under supervision in creating and delivering instructional materials.
• Use braille translation software.
• Operate Apple, Macintosh, or PC computers for word processing.
• Assist the VI with modifications and supplemental services for students with visual impairments.
• Participate in training on VI technology.
• Maintain and follow instructional material plans and IEP data.
• Attend to attendance as an essential function and work onsite.
