Job summary

Safe Children Coalition, Inc. in Florida seeks a Learning and Professional Development Specialist to train Community Based Care staff across Desoto, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties and to develop quality improvement strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related human service field and at least three years’ experience in child welfare.
• Child welfare training and/or supervision experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to Community Based Care initiative training and develop quality improvement strategies.
• Assesses child welfare staff competency to perform services.
• Provides guidance, mentoring and coaching to new staff.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws, contracts and accreditation standards.
• Represents CBC to community groups and participates in public relations functions.
• Reviews CBC policy and procedure and suggests changes based on best practice and compliance.
