Job summary

Safe Children Coalition, Inc. is seeking a Learning and Professional Development Specialist to strengthen child welfare services across Desoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.

You will design and deliver training, assess staff competency, mentor new staff, and help implement quality improvement strategies within CBC.

Join a mission-driven team and contribute to ongoing accreditation efforts and public outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related human service field; 3+ years in child welfare.
• Experience with training and supervision preferred.
• Current Child Welfare certification preferred.
• Knowledge of CBC policies and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, contracts, standards.
• Research best practices and integrate into CBC trainings.
• Provide up-to-date information on rules and contract requirements.
• Support professional development and training tools deployment.
• Mentor and guide child welfare staff.
• Assess staff competency under supervision.
• Promote quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities.
• Represent CBC to community groups and speak publicly.
• Review CBC policy and recommend changes and enhancements.
• Contribute to systems analysis and delivery of trainings to raise staff skills.
